Pokemon Ruby Overview
Pokemon Ruby for the Game Boy Advance presents a new trainer beginning a journey in the Hoenn region from Littleroot Town. The player receives a starter Pokemon from Professor Birch, selecting from Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip, each representing a distinct elemental type.
The adventure involves exploring this region, which features eight gyms to challenge. A key addition to combat is the two on two battle system, which introduces new tactical considerations. The game expands the roster with over 350 creatures to encounter and record in a new Pokedex, alongside various new items.
A primary narrative conflict involves opposing Team Magma, an organization with a plan to awaken the legendary Groudon by flooding the world. The player's objective is to thwart this scheme while progressing toward the goal of becoming a Pokemon Master.
