NHL Hitz 20-03 Overview
NHL Hitz 20-03 is the sole Game Boy Advance entry in Midway's arcade hockey series. It employs a three-on-three format with goalies, emphasizing a fast, physical style where penalties are rare and fights are a common occurrence.
Players can engage in exhibition matches, complete a full season with several length options, and enter playoffs with configurable series lengths. Season data is saved via battery backup. Multiplayer is supported for up to four participants using a link cable. Team lineups are chosen from real NHL rosters prior to a game.
The perspective is an elevated, side-scrolling view. On-ice actions include checking and deking, supplemented by a turbo meter that boosts these moves when activated. A temporary "on fire" state, triggered by achievements like a hat trick or consecutive checks, further enhances a player's capabilities.
