Medarot G : Kabuto Version Overview
Medarot G: Kabuto Version is a Japanese release that served as the basis for a later North American adaptation. The core experience is a 2D fighting game where battles take place in platform-style arenas.
Progression involves competing to win a championship before confronting a group known as the Rubberobo Gang. The player controls one Medabot at a time in two-on-two team fights, where wagered robot parts can be won. These collected components are used to assemble and customize the player's own Medabots.
Customization is central, as different opponents and arenas require shifts in strategy. This can involve altering a Medabot's equipped parts or its overall battle approach. Each robot possesses a unique Medaforce ability derived from its Medal, and these Medals can be trained to enhance various attributes like close combat, ranged attacks, or defensive support.
A separate version of the game exists, leading to certain robot parts and Medals being exclusive to each edition. Acquiring every part and Medal necessitates using a Link Cable to battle and trade with another player.
