Driv3r Overview
Driv3r for the Game Boy Advance is a mission based adaptation of its console counterpart, featuring a condensed version of the story. The narrative follows Tanner infiltrating a Miami car theft ring, with plot details conveyed through altered dialogue and still images from the original game's renders.
Gameplay involves 25 missions split between Miami and Nice, omitting the Istanbul location. Objectives are varied, encompassing pursuits, timed travel, escort duties, police evasion, and gunfights, often requiring multiple steps to complete. The structure allows for free exploration of both cities between assignments, where players can discover hidden content and additional challenges.
These extras include four distinct driving mini games: one involves navigating a course of traffic cones, another requires destroying crates, a third tasks the player with slaloming through gates, and a fourth is a point to point race. The technical presentation uses a texture mapped 3D environment for the world, while vehicles and characters are rendered as sprites, sharing an engine with other titles from the same developer.
