Space Combat Overview
Space Combat was a straightforward top-down shooter from the Flash era. It appeared online when many of us were looking for quick games to play in a browser. The presentation was minimal, using simple vector graphics and a dark backdrop dotted with stars. It never pretended to be more than it was, a direct and uncomplicated arcade experience.
You control a lone ship with the mouse, moving it freely across the screen. Your left click fires a constant stream of projectiles at the waves of geometric enemies that drift into view. The main goal is to survive as long as possible, clearing each wave to progress. You can collect power-ups that temporarily enhance your firepower, adding a small layer of strategy to the constant dodging and shooting. The pace is steady, and the difficulty builds gradually as enemy patterns become more crowded. It feels like a focused test of your aim and positioning, a clean and immediate arcade challenge.
