Sid & Al’s Incredible Toons Overview
Sid & Al's Incredible Toons presents a series of puzzles where the player assembles missing components into a two-dimensional machine. The objective is to trigger a chain reaction that typically results in one cartoon character harming the other, echoing the elaborate designs of Rube Goldberg. This title is a spin-off from The Incredible Machine series, substituting that series' more realistic gadgets for a cast of animated characters and comical items.
Central figures Sid Mouse and Al E. Cat are perpetually in conflict, and the puzzles provide numerous methods to facilitate their antics. Solutions require selecting objects from an inventory and placing them strategically within the scene before activating the sequence. While some setups are straightforward, many are challenging, demanding multi-step processes where one action must set up the conditions for another.
The game's toolbox includes a wide array of devices such as ropes, pulleys, conveyor belts, catapults, and explosives. Additional characters like Eunice the elephant or Bik the dragon introduce specific behaviors that can be incorporated into the machines. Successful completion of all included puzzles unlocks an editor for creating custom challenges.
