Kingdoms of Germany Overview
Kingdoms of Germany is a turn-based medieval strategy game derived from the Kingdoms of England engine, transposing its systems to a German setting. Players act as a Lord governing a kingdom, with control extending from managing internal infrastructure to commanding military forces.
Victory requires becoming the Sole Ruler, a goal pursued through a dual focus on societal development and military conquest. A player must cultivate a prosperous kingdom to generate the wealth needed to expand and strengthen an army of up to twenty units, enabling territorial acquisition.
The game offers two distinct competitive scenarios. One involves human opponents, where all participants follow the same rules of building and expansion. The other pits a human against computer-controlled War Lords, whose behavior is purely aggressive and focused on plunder, creating a challenging dynamic where the human must rely on strategic development to overcome these adversarial forces. Interaction with the game world is handled primarily through mouse control.
