Infestation Overview
Infestation is a DOS game set on the Xelos research colony, which has been overrun by aliens after the crew was eliminated. The player assumes the role of the superhero Kal Solar, tasked with preventing a disaster by destroying 167 alien eggs before they hatch.
Played from a first-person 3D perspective, the interface is integrated into the character's helmet, displaying navigation, health, and inventory status. Environmental management is required, as the player must monitor air quality and a limited oxygen supply. A jetpack also features its own dedicated display.
Core objectives involve locating and utilizing specific equipment, such as an infra-red kit, and interacting with computers and other objects in the environment. The final goals are to eliminate all eggs, deactivate the facility, and execute a timely escape. The gameplay alternates between distinct control modes for movement and combat.
