Ignition Overview
Ignition is a top-down racing game with a perspective set above and behind the player's vehicle. The selection of cars includes diverse options like a police car, a VW Beetle, a school bus, and a truck, each with distinct performance characteristics. Using the notably slow bus to win a race, which requires obstructing other drivers for three full laps, presents a particularly challenging scenario.
Players can engage in practice sessions, single races, or a multi-tier championship. The initial five tracks feature environmental hazards and branching paths where a driver must quickly decide between a safer route or a riskier, faster alternative. Completing the first two championship tiers unlocks additional circuits. Multiplayer is supported through network play or a vertical split-screen mode.
