A.S.P.: Air Strike Patrol Overview
A.S.P.: Air Strike Patrol is a military flight action game viewed from an isometric perspective. Players assume the role of a Coalition pilot tasked with halting the Zarak army's invasion of a neighboring country through a series of aerial missions.
The core gameplay involves selecting one of two aircraft, an F-15 Eagle or an A-10 Tankbuster, and customizing its armament before each sortie. This choice is challenging as missions have specific objectives like destroying radar sites, armored columns, or SCUD launchers, and each of the eight operational areas contains hostile F-15s. Players must manage real-time speed and direction with a fixed altitude, using a ground targeting reticle or, with the F-15, a lock-on system to engage air and ground targets.
Mission structure is guided by pre-flight briefings and an animated colonel, with success requiring a minimum destruction rate within a time limit. Post-mission debriefings and potential news reports based on performance provide feedback. The game allows for repeated takeoffs to meet objectives, offering a fair approach to mission completion.
