Pocket Billiards: Funk the 9 Ball Overview
Pocket Billiards: Funk the 9 Ball is a billiards title for the Game Boy Color that incorporates a collection mechanic. Players gather spirits known as Tamapi, which are then stored within the billiard balls themselves.
When a ball containing a spirit is successfully pocketed, its stored Tamapi can alter the state of play. These effects range from causing the table to shake to granting the player an additional turn following a missed shot.
Defeating opponents allows for the acquisition of more spirits, expanding the player's available pool of gameplay modifiers. The game also features an audio component where, during matches, players can win items like MiniDiscs. These unlock new musical tracks for a DJ to play in the background.
