Harlem Globetrotters : World Tour Overview
Harlem Globetrotters: World Tour is a basketball video game based on the exhibition team, structured around two-on-two matches. Its primary campaign, the World Tour mode, involves a sequence of victories to achieve a championship, echoing the style of arcade basketball titles like NBA Jam.
Gameplay incorporates standard basketball actions such as passing, shooting, and steals, alongside more flamboyant moves like dunks. Player capabilities are governed by individual statistics, and a stamina system requires management, potentially leading to substitutions during a match. Performing impressive plays fills a special meter, which when full unlocks unique dunk animations.
Beyond the full-game campaign, a Quick Match option allows for shorter sessions by simulating only the final quarter. Success in the World Tour mode results in additional teams becoming available for use. The Nintendo DS iteration of the game includes a feature for two-player competition.
