Gremlins: Stripe vs Gizmo is a side-scrolling platform game for the Game Boy Advance that adapts its film source material into two opposing campaigns. The setting is a Christmas season in Kingston Falls, where the player's choice of protagonist determines whether the holiday is preserved or ruined.
Selecting Gizmo involves a mission to recover stolen presents while evading capture by gremlins, who seek to transform him. His abilities include a double-jump and a defensive flashlight, and he can also roll into a ball to attack. Conversely, playing as Stripe focuses on causing havoc by destroying presents and converting other creatures into gremlins using projectile cream pies; he fights primarily with his claws.
The game structures its content across five levels and provides three separate modes. These consist of a primary Adventure Mode, a time-limited "Against-the-Clock" Mode, and a Multiplayer Mode for linked two-player competition.
