Dune Ornithopter Assault Overview
Dune Ornithopter Assault is a mission based flight action game for the Game Boy Advance, originally developed in the early 2000s but unreleased until a recent enhanced edition. The setting involves a conflict over a mineral rich desert planet named Elland, contested between its corporate owner and an aggressive rival corporation from a neighboring world.
Players assume the role of a pilot undertaking over twenty missions with varying objectives. These tasks include exploration, cargo delivery, base destruction, and search and rescue operations, often requiring specific aircraft like light fighters or heavy freighters. Mission briefings indicate a challenging pace, with threats from enemy ground units, environmental hazards, and resource management such as fuel limits.
Progression is tracked through a military ranking system, where successful mission completion allows the pilot to advance in rank and earn commendations. The modern re release adds features typical of emulated software, including save states, controller support, and customizable visual settings.
