CT Special Forces Overview
CT Special Forces is a side scrolling platform shooter where players direct a counter-terrorist operative on global missions. The action spans four distinct environments: a snow mountain, a desert, a jungle, and a city. Progress is saved via a password system that updates after each mission.
Core navigation and combat use the directional pad for movement, a jump button, and a button for firing the equipped weapon. The default rifle has unlimited ammunition, while other weapons like a flamethrower or machine gun require specific pickups. A dedicated trigger cycles through an inventory of items, which can include grenades, a grappling rope, and handcuffs for arresting surrendering enemies. Health packs, ammunition, and proximity mines are found scattered in the levels.
The standard platforming is interspersed with several distinct gameplay variations. Colliding with certain objects triggers these segments. One shifts to a first-person shooting gallery where terrorists must be shot and hostages rescued. Another involves a parachute descent where the player must align two gauges to land correctly. Certain mission stages also transform the game into a top-down vertical shooter where the player pilots a helicopter.
