Zombie Waster Overview
Zombie Waster was one of those simple, direct games you'd find during the Flash era. It appeared online around 2006, a time when a quick browser game could fill a few minutes between tasks. The premise was straightforward, without much story to get in the way.
You control a lone survivor on the left side of the screen, moving up and down with the arrow keys. Zombies shamble in from the right, and your friends are tied up in the background. Your only action is to press spacebar to shoot, trying to pick off each zombie before it reaches you. The main objective is to survive for as long as possible, protecting your friends from being taken. The zombies come in a steady, predictable stream, and the difficulty comes from managing their increasing numbers with your single shot. It feels tense and focused, a test of simple timing against an endless horde.
