Thermostorm Overview
Thermostorm was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, tucked away on a Flash portal. It had a simple premise, a small character with a jetpack and a gun, and it ran right in your browser. You didn't need to install anything, you just clicked and played. That was the appeal of a lot of Flash games, and Thermostorm fit right in.
You control a lone soldier navigating a series of industrial corridors and open shafts. Movement is handled with the W, A, S, and D keys, giving you precise control as you run and jump. The mouse aims your weapon, and clicking fires at the robotic enemies that patrol the levels. Your jetpack, activated with the spacebar, provides short bursts of lift, letting you reach higher platforms or correct a mistimed jump. The main objective is straightforward: progress from the start of a level to the exit, eliminating threats along the way. The pacing is methodical, encouraging you to check corners and manage your limited jetpack fuel. The difficulty comes from enemy placement and environmental hazards, requiring careful movement rather than frantic action. It feels like a focused, compact mission where every shot and every boost matters.
