Super Mario Stairsways Overview
Super Mario Stairsways was one of those simple Flash games you'd find in the early 2000s. It belonged to that era of browser-based games where a familiar character was often placed into a new, stripped-down challenge. The game didn't try to be a grand adventure; it was a quick diversion, something to play for a few minutes between other tasks.
You control Mario, moving him left and right at the bottom of the screen. Coins and power-ups fall from the top, and you must catch them while avoiding the enemies that drop alongside. The main objective is to survive for as long as you can, building up your score. The mechanics are straightforward: you dodge enemies, collect items for points, and occasionally grab a mushroom for a temporary advantage. The pace picks up steadily, and the difficulty comes from the increasing speed and density of falling objects. It feels like a focused test of your reflexes and timing, a pure arcade-style reaction game.
