Strategy Defense 2 Overview
Strategy Defense 2 was one of those turn-based games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't have the polish of a big studio release, but it had a clear, functional style that made it easy to pick up. The premise was straightforward: after an attack on your kingdom, you were sent to lead a counter-assault.
You control a central hero character on a grid-based map. Each turn, you click on your units to open a menu of actions, like moving or attacking. You learn to issue orders to your allied soldiers before directing your hero; if you move your hero first, the allies will simply follow their default routines for that turn. The goal is to eliminate all enemy units on the map. Success earns you money to spend between missions on equipment or new troops from a shop. The game moves at a deliberate, thoughtful pace, and the difficulty comes from managing your limited actions each turn. It feels like a compact puzzle where every move needs to count.
