Stargates Overview
Stargates was one of those games you'd find in the early 2000s, a time when Flash games were a regular part of browsing the web. It didn't have a complicated setup or a long story. You just loaded it up and were immediately in command of a starship, tasked with a simple but daunting goal.
You control a single vessel from a top-down perspective, navigating through interconnected sectors of space. Your main objective is to eliminate every alien ship across multiple galaxies. Moment to moment, you pilot your ship with the mouse, positioning it to fire lasers at enemies while avoiding their return fire. You manage your ship's energy, which is used for both weapons and shields, creating a constant trade-off between offense and defense. The game is methodical and challenging; clearing a sector requires careful planning, as enemies become more aggressive and numerous. Progress feels earned through cautious movement and precise shooting, resulting in a tense, strategic experience where every encounter demands your full attention.
