Rainbow Web Overview
Rainbow Web was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, tucked away on a Flash game portal. It didn't have a big studio name attached to it, but it was a solid part of that era where you could lose an afternoon to a clever puzzle. The screen showed a spider web, which was your playing field, and it was filled with colored balls.
You control a cursor, clicking to swap any two adjacent balls on the web's strands. The goal is to match three or more of the same color in a line, clearing them from the board. Some balls have letters on them, and to finish a level you must clear all of those lettered balls by including them in your matches. The web's circular layout, with its radiating lines, makes planning your swaps a different challenge than a standard grid. The pace starts calmly but tightens as the web fills up, creating a quiet tension. It feels like untangling a knot, one careful move at a time.
