Last Shot Overview
Last Shot was one of those games you'd find buried in a Flash portal around 2008 or 2009. It didn't have a big studio name attached, just a straightforward top-down shooter that ran in your browser. You loaded it up between classes or during a slow afternoon, knowing exactly what you were getting into.
You control a lone soldier from above, moving with WASD and aiming your gun with the mouse. The objective is simple: clear each room of enemies before moving to the next. You're constantly scanning for cover behind crates or walls, popping out to fire. You manage a small arsenal, swapping between a pistol, shotgun, and rifle with the number keys, and you have to remember to reload manually. The pacing is relentless; enemies rush you from all sides, and the difficulty spikes quickly if you're careless. It feels tense and immediate, a test of your reflexes and positioning in cramped, hostile spaces.
