Laser Blast Overview
Laser Blast was one of those straightforward games you'd find during the Flash era. It came out in 2002, a time when a simple concept and quick loading screen were enough to hold your attention for a few minutes. The game didn't need a complex story or detailed graphics; it just presented a clear task and let you get on with it.
You control a small, blocky ship fixed at the bottom of the screen. Your only job is to aim and fire at the geometric shapes that drift down from above. Each shape requires a specific number of hits to destroy, and you must eliminate them before they reach the bottom. The controls are minimal, just moving a targeting reticle with the mouse and clicking to shoot. The pace starts slow but steadily increases, with more shapes descending and their patterns becoming less predictable. It feels like a focused test of your aim and timing under a quiet, building pressure.
