Hover Tanks 2 Overview
Hover Tanks 2 was one of those games you'd find in the later days of Flash, a straightforward action title that didn't try to be more than it was. It came out in 2008, made by a developer named John O'Reilly. You loaded it up in your browser, and it just worked, no fuss.
You control a single hover tank from a top-down view. Your job is to survive waves of enemy tanks that come at you from all sides. You move with the arrow keys, rotating your tank to aim, and fire with the mouse. Between rounds, you spend earned cash on upgrades for your hull, weapons, and shields. The pace is relentless; the screen quickly fills with enemy fire, and you're constantly weaving and shooting. The difficulty ramps up steadily, pushing you to manage your positioning and prioritize targets. It feels like a tense, chaotic scramble where a single mistake can end your run.
