Fortress Game Overview
Fortress Game was one of those simple, straightforward titles you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be more than it was, which was part of its appeal. You'd load it up on a browser, and it was just there, ready to go.
You control a small cannon, or sometimes just a cursor, on one side of the screen. Your target is an enemy fortress on the other side. The core of the game is adjusting your shot. You set the angle and the power, then fire. The physics feel weighty; you watch your projectile arc across the sky, hoping it lands where you aimed. The objective is to dismantle the opposing structure, piece by piece, before it does the same to you. The pacing is methodical. You take your time with each shot, learning from the last one's trajectory. It can be surprisingly difficult to get the calculations right, especially with wind or moving targets. The game feels like a quiet test of patience and precision.
