Chinese Wushu Overview

Chinese Wushu was one of those straightforward fighting games you'd find during the Flash era. It appeared online when browser games were often simple, single-screen affairs focused on quick action rather than complex stories.

You control a lone martial artist in a static arena, facing waves of opponents who approach from both sides. Your basic moves are mapped to the keyboard; you move left and right, jump, and use a few attack buttons for different strikes and a defensive crouch. The goal is simply to defeat every enemy that appears and stay alive as long as possible. The mechanics are minimal, mostly involving timing your attacks and avoiding being surrounded. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty comes from the increasing number of foes. It feels like a tense, repetitive test of your reaction speed.
