Bombay Taxi 2 Overview
Bombay Taxi 2 was one of those games you'd find in the later days of Flash, a straightforward driving challenge that didn't need much explanation. It came out around 2006, I think, from a developer known for simple, physics-based games. You loaded it up in your browser, and within seconds you were behind the wheel, trying to figure out how to navigate its cramped, obstacle-filled streets.
You control a taxi cab from a side view, using the arrow keys to accelerate, reverse, and tilt the vehicle. The goal is to park in a designated spot on each of the twenty levels, but the path is never clear. You have to climb steep hills, avoid rolling backwards, and dodge unexpected hazards like passing trains. The physics are loose and bouncy, making every turn and landing feel precarious. It starts simply but the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding careful throttle control and a lot of patience. The experience is a mix of frustration and satisfaction when you finally nudge your cab into place after a dozen attempts.
