Belter Overview
Belter was one of those straightforward space shooters you'd find in the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick, satisfying way to pass time in a browser. The game had a clean, functional look, with different visual modes you could switch between, from simple vector outlines to more filled-in styles. It was typical of the period, a solid execution of a familiar idea.
You control a small ship, moving it with the mouse to navigate a field of drifting asteroids and debris. Your primary task is to destroy these rocks, breaking them into smaller pieces until they vanish. As you clear the space, you occasionally collect upgrades that float free, improving your ship's weapons or capabilities. The objective is simple: survive and clear each wave. The pacing is steady, but the screen can get crowded quickly as fragments multiply, demanding constant attention and precise shots. It feels like a focused, almost methodical exercise in clearing a cluttered sky.
