Arcane Castle Overview
Arcane Castle was one of those games you'd find buried in a Flash portal around the mid-2000s. It didn't have a big studio name attached, just a simple title that promised magic and adventure. The game fit right into that era of quick, browser based experiences where you could jump in for ten minutes between other tasks.
You control a wizard tasked with defending his home from waves of monsters. Most of your time is spent running back and forth across the castle ramparts, jumping over gaps and ducking under projectiles. Your main goal is to survive each wave, using a growing arsenal of spells mapped to the keyboard. You might freeze an enemy with one key, then blast a group with an explosion mapped to another. The pacing is relentless, with little room for error as enemies swarm from both sides. It feels like a frantic scramble to remember your spells while keeping your footing.
