Arcane Overview
Arcane was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, a time when Flash games were a regular part of browsing the web. It fit right in with other arena combat titles, offering a straightforward premise without much fuss. You played as a lone warrior entering a tournament, and the goal was simple: survive each round and defeat every opponent that came your way.
You control a single character from an overhead view, moving with the WASD keys. The core loop involves switching between melee and ranged combat with the spacebar. In one moment you might be swinging a sword at a nearby fighter, and in the next you're backing away to launch a crossbow bolt. You collect different weapons from fallen enemies, like axes or kunai, and can cycle through them during a fight. The arenas are small and the waves of enemies come quickly, which keeps the pressure on. It feels like a constant, hectic scramble where a single mistake can end your run.
