Reunion Overview
Reunion is a strategy game set in the 27th century. Its narrative begins with the experimental starship Explorer-2, which escapes a planetary coup on Earth. After a damaged journey, its crew establishes the colony of New Earth, which becomes the player's base for a long-term goal of eventual reunification with the homeworld.
Gameplay involves managing this colony from a central command interface. Players must appoint skilled commanders to oversee various departments, as these personnel are required to operate key menus. Core activities include directing research into new technologies, scheduling construction of colony facilities, and converting mined resources into usable goods through production.
The player's economic foundation relies on discovering and harvesting six distinct minerals found on planets within the solar system. Expansion is facilitated via a galactic map, where new planetary bodies can be scouted and later colonized. Beyond formal management, players can gather information by consulting their commanders or visiting a local bar to hear gossip.
The overarching objective is to develop the colony's self-sufficiency to a point where it can build a space fleet and pursue its mission of reconquest. This progression from resource management to interstellar strategy suggests a challenging scope of play.
