Extreme Ghostbusters : Code Ecto-1 is a Game Boy Advance title adapted from its animated series counterpart. The narrative centers on a rescue mission after two team members, Roland and Garrett, are abducted by the villain Count Mercharior.
Gameplay involves two primary phases of action. First, players navigate the Ecto-1 vehicle across four New York City locations to uncover initial clues. Upon arrival, the perspective shifts to controlling either Kylie or Eduardo, who must explore three levels per area. Success in an area requires locating a specific clue and overcoming a challenging Boss Ghost.
Progress is guided by consultations with Dr. Egon Spengler at the team's headquarters, who provides new objectives after each area is cleared.
