War Machines Overview
War Machines was one of those straightforward action games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't have a complicated story or deep lore. You just loaded it up in your browser and got straight into a fight. It was the kind of game you played for a quick session between other tasks, a common experience for many in that period of online gaming.
You control a single tank from a top-down perspective. Your main job is to survive waves of enemy tanks that come from all sides of the map. You move with the WASD keys and aim your turret with the mouse, firing with a click. The core loop involves circling the arena, using obstacles for cover, and picking off targets before they overwhelm you. Power-ups occasionally drop, giving you temporary upgrades like rapid fire or stronger armor. The difficulty ramps up steadily, with later waves introducing faster and more aggressive enemies. It feels like a constant, tense scramble for positioning and ammunition.
