Trigma Overview
Trigma was one of those games you'd find in the late 2000s, tucked away on a Flash portal. It didn't have the fanfare of bigger titles, but it had a clear, simple idea that made you stop and click. It fit right into that era of quick, experimental browser games.
You control a small triangular ship in an arena filled with geometric enemies. The core rule is right there in the tagline: you don't shoot. Instead, your ship is surrounded by a rotating shield. Your main action is maneuvering to angle this shield into the path of incoming enemy fire, deflecting their bullets back at them. The objective is to survive waves of these enemies by using their own attacks against them. You constantly adjust your position, watching the shield's rotation to time your deflections. The pace is methodical but tense, as a single mistimed move can end a run. It feels like a careful, reactive dance where you are always one step from being overwhelmed.
