Thug For Life Overview
Thug For Life was one of those simple, direct fighting games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick brawler you could load in a browser, a straightforward test of reflexes against a series of cartoonish opponents. The presentation was basic, the premise clear, and it fit right into that category of games you played for a few intense minutes between other tasks.
You control a lone fighter viewed from the side, moving left and right with the arrow keys. Your goal is to defeat every thug that appears on the screen by punching them. The primary action is a standard punch, but holding down two keys allows for a more powerful attack. The pacing is fast; enemies approach steadily, and you must time your strikes while avoiding their own swings. The difficulty comes from managing the spacing and the timing of these stronger moves as more opponents fill the stage. It feels like a constant, rhythmic push to clear space before you get overwhelmed.
