Test of Time Overview
Test of Time was one of those games you'd find on a Flash portal in the late 2000s. It didn't have a complicated story or fancy graphics. It was just a small, focused puzzle box that asked a simple question. The goal was always clear from the title itself.
You control a small, blocky character in a series of single-screen rooms. Your job is to collect every key and reach the exit door. The twist is that you must do it within a strict time limit displayed on screen. You move with the arrow keys, and you use the spacebar to open or close doors, which often blocks or allows the flow of other moving blocks. Pressing R resets the room instantly, a necessary feature given the precision required. The puzzles start simply but quickly demand careful planning. You learn to anticipate how your movements affect the clock and the layout. It feels like a race against a silent, relentless opponent where every hesitation costs you.
