Table Footie Overview
Table Footie was one of those simple Flash games you'd find in the late 2000s. It was a digital version of the tabletop soccer game, the kind with little players on rods. You could play it right in your browser, no download needed. It fit right in with other casual games from that era, the sort of thing you'd play for a few minutes between tasks.
You control one team of four or five players fixed to a horizontal bar. Using the arrow keys or the A and Z keys, you slide your entire line of players up and down the screen. The goal is to knock the ball past your opponent's line and into their goal. The physics are basic; the ball bounces off the players and the walls with a satisfying clack. Matches are fast, often decided by quick reflexes and anticipating where the ball will go. It feels like a quick, physical duel, a test of simple coordination against another person or the computer.
