Sumatra Overview
Sumatra was one of those straightforward puzzle games you'd find in the later years of the Flash era. It didn't try to reinvent the wheel, but it had a clear, simple hook that kept you clicking for another round. The presentation was clean, with a jungle theme that felt familiar and uncluttered.
You control a gorilla trying to climb a vertical grid of colored tiles. Your only tool is the mouse, used to swap adjacent tiles and create matches of three or more. Each successful match causes the gorilla to ascend one row, bringing you closer to the top. The challenge comes from the board's constant state of change; new tiles fall in from above, often disrupting your planned chains. The pace is deliberate, more about thoughtful swaps than frantic speed. It feels like a quiet, persistent climb where every move needs to consider the next three.
