Submachine 4 Overview
Submachine 4 came out during the Flash era, a time when many puzzle games were built for browsers. It was created by Mateusz Skutnik, continuing the series from earlier point and click adventures. The game picks up right after the third one, leaving you to figure out the next steps in its strange world.
You control a cursor, clicking to move through a detailed, layered environment. Your main goal is to explore the structure and find a way out, which involves solving a chain of interconnected puzzles. You'll spend time examining objects, collecting items for your inventory, and using them on specific parts of the scenery. The puzzles require careful observation and some trial and error, with a difficulty that builds steadily as you progress. Playing it feels like slowly untangling a quiet, intricate knot.
