Stan Skates Overview
Stan Skates was one of those simple, straightforward games you'd find on a Flash portal in the early 2000s. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick distraction, a way to kill a few minutes between other tasks. The graphics were basic, the premise was clear, and it ran right in your browser without any fuss. That was the charm of it.
You control a character on a skateboard, automatically moving forward. Your main job is to avoid obstacles like gaps or barriers by timing your jumps with the spacebar. You also collect items scattered along the path for points. The up arrow key triggers a special trick, giving you a brief speed boost or extra style points. The game starts slow but gradually picks up pace, demanding quicker reactions as you go further. It feels like a rhythmic test of timing, where a single mistimed jump sends you back to the start.
