Sonic Boom Town 2 Overview
Sonic Boom Town 2 was one of those games you'd find in the later days of the Flash era. It didn't have a complicated setup or a deep story. You just got in a car and started driving through a simple city grid. The goal was straightforward: cause as much destruction as possible. You earned cash from the chaos, which you could then spend on upgrades for your vehicle. It was a pure, simple loop built for a few minutes of fun.
You control a small car from an overhead view. Most of your time is spent steering through the streets, building up speed, and then using your "sonic boom" to shatter buildings. The spacebar triggers the attack, a visible pulse that reduces structures to rubble. You have to manage your car's handling, using the arrow keys to navigate and a hand brake for sharper turns. The pacing is quick. The city is small, and the buildings respawn after a short time, creating a constant cycle of driving and demolishing. It feels like a contained burst of controlled vandalism, satisfying in its immediacy but over almost as soon as it begins.
