Shuriken Overview
Shuriken was one of those straightforward Flash games you'd find in the late 2000s. It didn't try to be anything more than a quick test of reflexes, the kind of thing you'd play for a few minutes between other tasks. The screen was simple, usually just you and a steady stream of targets.
You control a stationary cursor, a reticule fixed in the center of the screen. Your only action is to click, throwing a star at the ninjas that appear from the edges. They approach from all sides, sometimes in groups, and your goal is to eliminate every one before they reach you. The mechanics are bare bones: timing your clicks, leading fast-moving targets, and managing the brief cooldown between throws. The pace starts slow but builds steadily, and missing even one ninja usually means the game is over. It feels tense and immediate, a pure distillation of reaction time and precision.
