Seige of Osaka Overview
Siege of Osaka was one of those straightforward action games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't try to be more than it was, a simple platformer you could load in a browser and play for a few minutes. The graphics were functional, the sounds were basic, and it fit right in with the kind of direct, uncomplicated experiences that defined that time online.
You control a lone warrior navigating a series of castle stages. Your immediate goal is to fight through each screen of enemies, from foot soldiers to archers, to reach the exit. Movement is handled with the arrow keys, and you attack with the spacebar. The game introduces a slight twist with special weapons, mapped to keys like Z, X, and C, which you can use sparingly against tougher groups. The pace is quick, and the difficulty comes from managing crowds in tight spaces while watching your health. It feels like a brisk, sometimes chaotic scramble from one fight to the next.
