Samhain Fever Overview
Samhain Fever was one of those games you'd find buried in a Flash portal around Halloween. It belonged to that era of simple, single-screen arcade games that were perfect for a few minutes of distraction. The presentation was straightforward, with pixel art that felt both festive and slightly eerie.
You control a small character, often a witch or a pumpkin, using the arrow keys to navigate a compact, haunted landscape. Your goal is to gather a set number of key items, like candy or scrolls, scattered across the stage. Moment to moment, you are dodging. Ghosts pour onto the screen from all sides, and their numbers grow steadily as you play. You have a jump button to hop over lower threats, and sometimes a return or select function to interact with objects. The pace is relentless; it starts calmly but quickly becomes a scramble for survival as the screen fills with enemies. It feels like a tense, crowded race against a rising tide.
