Pyramid Runner Overview
Pyramid Runner was one of those games you'd find on a Flash portal in the mid-2000s, a simple puzzle title that felt right at home in a browser tab. It didn't have the fanfare of bigger releases, just a straightforward premise that pulled you in for a few minutes, or sometimes much longer.
You control a small explorer navigating a grid of sand blocks inside a pyramid. Your goal is to collect every piece of gold scattered across the level. The main challenge is a gorilla that patrols the corridors; if it sees you, the level restarts. You can dig holes in the sand to create temporary pits, which can trap the gorilla for a short time or block its path. Using a level preview function helps you plan your route around the gold and the patrolling enemy. The game starts calmly but demands careful timing and route planning as the layouts become more complex. It feels like a quiet game of cat and mouse, where a single misstep resets your progress.
