Portugal Rally Overview
Portugal Rally was one of those straightforward racing games you'd find during the Flash era. It didn't have the complexity of a modern sim, but it captured a specific kind of challenge. You were just a driver on a winding, often narrow, road.
You control a small car from a top-down perspective, constantly wrestling with the steering to keep it on the asphalt. The main objective is simple: complete each stage as fast as you can without crashing. You use the throttle to build speed on straights, then brake and often pull the handbrake to slide around tight corners. The physics are unforgiving; a slight misjudgment sends you spinning into the dirt, costing precious seconds. The game feels tense and immediate, a constant fight for control against the track itself.
