Outdrive Overview
Outdrive was a straightforward racing game from the Flash era. It felt like a direct translation of an old top-down arcade racer into a browser window. The presentation was simple, with pixelated cars and tracks that loaded in seconds.
You control a small car from an overhead view, weaving through traffic on a single stretch of road. The main objective is to survive as long as possible while driving at high speed. You use the arrow keys to accelerate and steer, constantly dodging slower vehicles that fill the lanes. Crashing into another car or the roadside barrier ends your run immediately. The game starts at a manageable pace, but the traffic density and your own speed increase steadily, creating a tense scramble for space. It feels like a focused test of reflexes and lane management, where a single mistake resets your progress.
