Groovy Hoops Overview
Groovy Hoops was one of those simple Flash games you'd find in the late 2000s, a time when a browser could be a quick arcade. It didn't try to be complicated. You just loaded it up and started bouncing a ball.
You control a player on a single screen court. Using the arrow keys, you move left and right to position yourself under the falling basketball. Pressing up makes you jump to catch it, and once you have the ball, pressing down lets you take a shot at the hoop. The main goal is to make as many baskets as you can without missing. The ball comes down at different angles, so you're constantly adjusting your stance. It starts relaxed, but the pace picks up, and a single miss ends your run. The game feels like a steady, rhythmic test of your timing.
