Grannie-fu Overview
Grannie-fu was one of those games that felt like a staple of the Flash era. It appeared online when browser games were often quick, simple diversions. You didn't need an account or a download; you just clicked and played. The premise was immediately clear from the title and the opening screen.
You control a grandmother who knows martial arts. The gameplay involves using your mouse to direct her attacks against waves of younger, presumably disrespectful opponents. You click and drag to make her swing her arms and legs in wide, exaggerated arcs. The main objective is to defeat all the enemies on screen before they can overwhelm you. Mechanics include building combos by landing successive hits and, if I remember correctly, a special move that could clear the area. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly as more enemies appear from all sides. It feels chaotic and a little silly, a straightforward test of your mouse coordination wrapped in a ridiculous concept.
