Flash Empires 2 Overview
Flash Empires 2 was one of those games you'd find in the later years of the Flash Classic era. It fit right in with the simple, accessible strategy titles that filled browser game portals. The premise was straightforward: you had to defend Santa's workshop from an invasion led by his own brother.
You control a base and a small starting force of elves. Your main job is to manage resources, which you gather by capturing mines scattered across the map. With that cash, you train more elf soldiers and construct defensive towers along the paths the enemy uses. The objective is to destroy the enemy's main base while protecting your own. You spend a lot of time clicking to direct your units and place buildings, watching small skirmishes play out in real time. The pacing is steady, not too frantic, but the difficulty can spike if you don't expand your territory quickly enough. It feels like a compact, no-fuss version of a larger real-time strategy game.
